2023 New Year
Dear Friends,
Happy New Year! The new year is a time for symbolic renewal and rejuvenation!
The past three years of the pandemic have felt like one long, arduous Winter full of loss, not only of our loved ones, but also of lost time and lost connections. These painful experiences, though heartbreaking, can also help us to question what's most important in our lives. What we can (should we) be doing with the limited time we have in this current life? As we know, from the Dharma, all things have a cause and effect. The pandemic has given us time to look within and reflect on our own resilience, strength, and community.
As the new year begins, we're thrilled to announce that Thong Tri Temple will be opening its doors for a Lunar New Year commemoration AND every Sunday after that! Please see our Lunar New Year invitation below:
Lunar New Year 2023
Sunday, January 22, 2023 - Monday, January 23, 2023
10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Please join us as we pay respect to the Buddha on Lunar New Year! The Temple will be open from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM. All are welcome to receive a red envelope. Light refreshments will be available. Chanting begins at 7:00 PM.

What’s New?

Looking Ahead...
Our upcoming projects include the Fourth Noble Truth, and an explanation of the Dharma name. During the various stages of Phuong's transition to be a fully ordained Buddhist nun, she was given a new name at each stage. Names are symbolically creative and transformative. Do you know the meaning of your name or where it came from?
